Geocache Description:

A short scenic hike along Long Pond on the Narragansett Trail in Rockville Management Area.

Round trip is just over a half a mile. But with a couple of small elevation changes and some outcropping that can be slippery when wet, this can be a challenging hike that is not well suited for small children.

At about 75 feet west from the Narragansett Trail sign near the parking area, there are two yellow dot trails. Take the trail leading north to get to the cache.
The trail leading west will take you to Ashville Pond.

Although gecaching is not permitted on Audubon Society of Rhode Island property (just west of the cache), they do encourage hikers to enjoy their property and learn about the wildlife that lives there. The trails are well marked, and offer fantastic hiking through a rugged terrain. They provide a trail map on their website. www.asri.org
