This was our first try at geocaching. First time our gps unit took us in a big loop and out into the swamp. We then went to find Mossy Oak. On our way out of the park, we thought we'd give it one last try and found this without a gps unit. This was an easier find than anticipated. We also want to know what a rock "carin" is. I looked up the word in a dictionary and all I got was "a female given name" or something like that. This is going to be a family outing on a frequent basis now! Left a Trailer City Keychain.

Our first of three finds for the day. The kids were especially excited to find a geocoin. This is our first Geocoin find (we're still pretty new at this), so we were excited to take it on an adventure. We considered dropping it at another Canaan Valley location, but thought it would be more exciting to take it home (some 30 miles away) and put it in a heavy-traveled cache here in Elkins, WV. The log for that particular cache shows folks coming from hours away, so hopefully, the next finder will take the coin on an even longer trip.

Thanks for starting the coin! Our kids now want to get one of their own. Took geocoin, left stuffed skunk toy. TFTC

Team Dryforker stopped by to trade in travel coin.
Took Pink Coin with the cactus on it and left the Seabees Coin.
This was an introduction to geocaching for the grandparents who are on their way to get their own GPS unit.
TFTC! A beautiful fall day in Canaan Valley.
