Ricky & I have been kayaking & canoeing the Duck River for 25 years and decided since we discovered caching that it was a perfect way to bring others to this awesome,beautiful and sometimes treacherous force of nature.It was also a perfect opportunity for us to get our feet wet by having our 1st event!
We will be meeting at the take out point at Carpenter's Bridge for a breakfast meet & greet from 8:00-8:30am before making our way over to the put in.We will gather for a pot luck/simple breakfast,donuts etc.,sign the log & take some group pics!That is all that is needed to log the event,you do NOT have to take the river trip!
Now about the river part,there will be around 25 or so caches along the whole route.There are a few non boat caches at the event site as well.We are taking a 9 mile trip from Hwy 99 to Carpenter's Bridge.It is meant for kayak's and canoes and can be quite unpredictable.This trip easily takes at least 6 hours unless you push it.Please bring a lunch,snacks,drinks, & plenty of water,sunscreen,bug spray etc.If you need to work with an outfitter please contact me and I will get you all the info you need.I will be posting a "related web page" with alot more details so PLEASE check there or message me and I will send you the link!
