Two Rivers! Time to go Fishing, Freaks Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

Isonzo Karst: Irma took out stage two. I'm not going to replace it. Rather surprised that stage 1 survived. Hanging on a limb of cypress, about 8" below the high water mark, a bison with coords on paper, still dry and readable.
With one visit in the last 6 years, geocaching can get by without this, clearly.
Fishing Freaks never hunted it, along with most other cachers ;-)

Geocache Description:

A multi-cache, 3 stages to an ammo can located in yet another section of the Withlacoochee State Forest, bounded by both the Withlacoochee and Little Withlacoochee Rivers. Roughly 3 miles walking. No masterful camo (hey, some black paint, and gobs of Spanish moss) but a thank you to Fishing Freaks for all their wonderful hides. S.O.S. this.

Crossing the river is not part of the cache. My intent is that the stages should be easy finds, good coords (I hope!) and descriptive hints. It's the journey and the amazing places.

A beautiful chunk of Croom, south of the Little Withlacoochee and east of the Withlacoochee. No roads or trails, but a good bit of ATV and user track. The ATV trails will come in handy for portions of this cache, but there's some bushwhacking to each stage (okay, sometimes quite a bit). If the river comes up, the first stage location becomes an island.

Parking at 28°33.797 82°11.901. Turn off 301 at Rousseau Rd at 28°33.937 82°09.392.
2 1/2 miles of pavement courtesy a single property owner, who was tired of driving dirt. Please PARK, don't drive in past the "no vehicles" sign. You'll be near the parking at the final.

Seasonal hunting in this section.

This cache complies with the geocaching policies for Florida Forest Service properties.
