Denny Blaine Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

cooperdog: Well decided to check on this since it's not that difficult of a hide. Rode my bike around the lake and to the park. It's indeed gone. Short lived cache. sorry to the few who couldn't find it due to the theft. :( The park is free for others to hide a cache in now.

Geocache Description:

A Beautiful Gem of a park. I used to live 4 blocks away and I sure miss these hidden places. The hide is a film canister.

Some history of the area.
The Denny-Blaine neighborhood was developed after the turn of the century by Elbert F.Blaine and Charles L. Denny, son of Seattle founders Arthur Denny and Mary Boren Denny. The two formed their land company in 1901.

The first inhabitants of the area were "The Inside People" also known as "The Lake People" They were Duwamish hunters, gatherers and fishers whose people roamed the area for thousands of years.

*The grassy beach (no lifeguards) is surrounded by an old stone wall, which marked the shoreline before 1917, when the lake level was lowered nine feet by the construction of the Lake Washington Ship Canal. There is enough room for a volleyball net above and quiet picnics and sunbathing below. *(Excerpt from Enjoying Seattle's Parks by Brandt Morgan)
