Team Hippo: The first cache I ever placed, but the building and grounds are being 'renovated' and the cache location has been compromised. Thanks to all who have stopped off here for a few quiet moments away from the bustle, but it is now time to put this one to rest.

A cache for those who cannot (or do not wish to) walk very far. The site is located alongside the road that turns off the A41 Aylesbury to Bicester road towards Upper Winchendon. There is room to park on the verge. Please be careful, though, as traffic travels extremely fast along this stretch. Bear in mind that to reach the cache you are on consecrated ground, and respect it as such.
Waddesdon Hill Chapel. This Grade II listed chapel was founded by Francis Cox in 1792. It evokes simple rustic nonconformist piety with unpretentious monuments, most of them hand-painted and a fireplace used by the ladies following baptism in the total immersion font which is under a trap door immediately in front of the Georgian pulpit. Please do not lift the cover as it is very heavy. The chapel was acquired in 1986 on its closure by the Friends of Friendless Churches to save it from a conversion which would have destroyed most of its quality.
