We discovered this new
trail through an
article in the Seattle P-I and have been dying
to hike it ever since. The trail, history, and scenery was
spectacular every step of the way.
This cache is located about 2.50 miles from the trailhead. From
the time you enter the Stillaguamish River valley, until you reach
this location, you will be hiking on the old railroad grade for the
Everett & Monte Christo Railway. You will pass by the structure
for which this trail is named and the town site that supported it.
Take the time to enjoy the view and observe the history. You will
be hiking through a historic area with many remnants of the past.
We saw old soles of shoes, pottery, and saw blades. Please leave
the bits of history for others to enjoy just the way you found
them. For driving directions to the trailhead please read the
article.
