La zapatille de la reina = the queen’s slipper
That arc was built by erosion.
Erosion is the action of several athmospheric and weather related agents (rain, snow, wind, etc.) These agents work on different materials, fragmenting or altering them, transforming the initial shapes in a long and impassive process. Softer materials will be affected more than harder ones.
The winds are strong in the Canadas and temperatures can fluctuate up to 20 degrees celsius in the course of a single day. In the winter the snow and ice are powerfull tools of erosion. On the other hand, the high altitude of the National Park provokes peri-glacial shapes (caused by freezing and thawing) that are typically of far colder places (for example Norway) rather than for a small subtropical island.
„La zapatilla de la reina“ (the queen’s slipper) is a phonolite dyke, that means a very hard volcanic rock, that is highly eroded and has the shape of a lady’s shoe.
To log this cache as a found
1.) upload a photo showing you in front of the arc prooving you had been physically there (re-allowed by GC since June 2019).
2.) Eitherdraw a selfmade picture of „la zapatilla de la reina“, estimate the high of the arc and write it into your painting. Upload the picture in your log! Or make a photograph of another rock in the National Park which reminds you of something, add it to your log, telling us what it reminds you of.
Logs without the required upload will be deleted without comment.

La zapatille de la reina = Der Schuh der Königin
Dieser Bogen ist ein Erosionsprodukt.
Erosion entsteht durch das Zusammenspiel von verschiedenen athmospherischen und wetterabhängigen Einflüssen (z.b. Regen, Schnee, Wind etc.) Diese Einflüsse wirken auf verschiedene Materialien, zerkleinern sie oder strukturieren sie um, und transformieren das anfängliche Gebilde in einem langen und passiven Prozess. Weichere Materialien sind davon mehr betroffen als härte.
Die Winde in den Canadas sind heftig und die Temperaturen können im Laufe eines einzigen Tages um 20 Grad Celsius fluktuieren. Im Winter sind Schnee und Eis wirksame Erosionsfaktoren. Außerdem bewirkt die große Höhe des Nationalparks eine peri-glaciale Umgebung (verursacht durch Frieren und Auftauen), die eigentlich für viel weiter nördliche liegende kalte Regionen (z.B. Norwegen) typischer ist, als für eine kleine subtropische Insel.
„La zapatilla de la reina“ (der Schuh der Königin) ist ein Phonolith, also ein sehr harter vulkanischer Felsen, der bereits stark erodiert ist, und derzeit die Form einen Frauenschuhs besitzt.
Um diesen Cache als „found“ zu loggen, musst du
1.) in deinem Log ein Bild von dir vor dem Bogen hochladen, um zu beweisen, dass du persönlich da gewesen bist (freiwillig ab 1.1.11).
2.) entweder ein Bild von dem Königinnenschuh malen, die Höhe des Bogens schätzen, in deinem Bild eintragen und das Bild in deinem Log hochladen oder ein Foto eines anderen Felsens im Nationalpark, der dich an etwas erinnert, machen und hochladen, und natürlich dranschreiben an was dich dieser Felsen erinnert.
Logs ohne das erforderlichen Uploadswerden kommentarlos gelöscht.
