[LV] Sakotneji šis katolu baznicas vieta 1685. gada par Krakovas karavadona Belinska lidzekliem tika uzcelta koka baznica. Ta nodega negaisa laika pec diviem gadsimtiem – 1887. gada. Jau nakošaja gada nodegušas baznicas vieta sakas jaunas katedrales (no akmens) celtnieciba, ko ari musdienas medz devet par vienu no lielakajam un skaistakajam buvem Latvija. Projekta autors - Rigas inženieris Florians Viganovskis. Katedrales celtniecibas laika nomainijas vairaki dekani un bija izteikts finansialu lidzeklu trukums, tadel ekas beigu varianta vareja noverot dažas atkapes no projekta pamatieceres.

Katedrales apdares darbi ilga lidz pat 1902. gadam. Savukart 1904. gada Rezeknes Jezus Sirds katedrale tika iesvetita. Baznicas formas atspogulo sava laika arhitekturas iezimes: fasades dala veidota pseidoromanikas, bet altardala – pseidogotikas stila. Apmeklejot katedrali, ir verts pieverst uzmanibu grieztajiem koka altariem, kas rotati ar Jezus Kristus, Jaunavas Marijas, Svetas Terezes un citu sveto skulpturam. Katedrale ir slavena ar savam vitražam un pirmo Livonijas biskapu – Sveta Meinarda un Sveta Alberta, attelojumiem tajas.

Kopš 1995. gada te atrodas Rezeknes - Aglonas diecezes kurija.

[Eng] Initially in the place of this Catholic Church there was built the wooden church by the means of Krakow leader Belinskis. It burned down during the thunderstorm after 2 centuries – in 1887.

Already the next year the building of new cathedral was started in compliance with the project of Riga engineer Florian Viganovskis. Now it is one of the biggest and nicest churches in Latvia. The face-work was going on until 1902; the Rezekne Heart of Jesus Cathedral was dedicated in 1904. The facade of the building is in the style of pseudo romantic, but the altar is pseudo gothic.

While attending the cathedral it is worth to pay attention to the curved wooden altars that are decorated by the sculptures of Jesus Christ, Virgin Mary, St. Teresa and others. The cathedral is famous for its depictions in stained glasses of first Livonian bishops – St. Maynard and St. Albert.

Since 1995 it is the centre of Aglona diocese with the seat of the bishop.

It's RECOMMENDED to search for the cache in night time but if you decide to search in daylight you can park your car in front of your search area and remember to be stealthy. ;) Also remember to rehide it AS YOU FOUND IT!
