Monitor Cache Traditional Geocache

This cache is temporarily unavailable.

RedHiker: Hi, Lil Devil

Please read this entire message to keep your cache from being archived. Action is required on your part.

I see that your cache may need some attention. It may be missing, or have damage, but enough time has passed since it was successfully located that you should visit it. I'm going to disable it to remove it from the list of active caches.

As the cache owner of a disabled geocache, there are three options available for you:

  1. Vist your cache, verify any issues with it then fix and enable your cache within the next 31 days. so that it can move out of this state of limbo.

  2. After visiting your cache, if you are not able to fix it in the next 31 days, then please create a new log note on your cache page letting the reviewer know you are aware that your cache needs attention and how/when you plan to take care of it. The reviewer will monitor and reply to these notes.

  3. You can archive your cache, remove your container, and clean up the area as needed.

Please note that Geocaching HQ has put greater emphasis on "refreshing the gameboard" which means that the volunteer Reviewers will be more actively following up to make sure caches are maintained or archiving them as needed to free up space for new caches to replace any old ones that were not being properly maintained.

If none of the actions listed above are taken by you as the cache owner, this geocache will be archived by a volunteer reviewer.

Please note that geocaches that are archived by a reviewer or Geocaching HQ for lack of maintenance, are not eligible to be unarchived.

Driving home from Las Vegas, we stopped at Topaz Lake to have some dinner and fix a nearby cache. I also drove around a bit to find a suitable place to hide this cache, since there were no others in the area to satisfy page 91 of the DeLorme Challenge. I checked a couple of areas near the Walker River, but nothing seemed both muggle-proof and flood-proof. Finally I stopped at the small rest area at the intersection of highways 89 and 395 to formulate a plan, when I spotted the small rise that holds this cache.

At first I just planned to take some pictures of the view, but when I walked over here I found some indentations in a rock that may have been used to grind flour by some early civilization. I also found a good place to hide the cache. The indentations in the rock are about 30 feet to the north of the cache.
