Family-friendly Easter Egg hunt throughout parts of the Alexauken Creek Wildlife Management Area. 6 eggs lead you to a good-sized lock & lock well-stocked with something for everybody, including a 4-legged companion! The trails are not overly strenuous, but there are some roots, rocks, and poison ivy and stickers near the edge of the woods. The girls like hiking here, so it can't be all THAT bad!
The beautiful Alexauken Creek Wildlife Management Area boasts several hundred acres with trails. This multi is actually an Easter Egg hunt! Find the eggs to provide coordinates and hints to the next egg and final cache hide.
Overall, this trail will take you on a loop. There are a couple of zig-zag/backtrack egg locations in the middle. All finds are not far from the trails. Stick to the trails when traveling from egg to egg.
Note that the trails are obvious in the summer, but are not yet blazed. We will try to get out there and blaze soon so hunting in the fall/winter is easier.
Parking/trailhead at N 40 23.802, W 074 52.217.
Coordinates provided are to the first Easter Egg, not to the final cache location.
Please be sure to replace eggs (and cache box) exactly where and how you found them.
This is a Wildlife Management Area which means hunting is permitted. Check dates for hunting and wear bright orange, or go on a Sunday when hunting is not allowed.
