Cache For Kids #8 - Magnolia Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Reviewer Revan: Cache Owner (CO) has not responded, so I am regretfully archiving this cache to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking new cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace this cache sometime in the future (not to exceed 10 days from the date of this entry), just contact me (by e-mail), and assuming it still meets the current Guidelines, I will consider unarchiving this cache.

Please be advised this is not a guarantee that this geocache will be unarchived. Many factors will go into my decision. The most important of which is how you responded to geocachers who tried to communicate with you regarding the problem(s) with this geocache hide and how you communicated with me, the Reviewer Revan.

Geocache Description:

Be mindful of where you drive and park.  There doesn't seem to be uniformity to the resting places.  Watch for vines and be respectful of the "residents".  Not a difficult find but be mindful that there is always a danger of ticks, spiders, snakes, and pesky critters.

This cache is a 1 gallon plastic pickle type jar painted camo and full of treasures for the kids.  It is hidden in some brush so be mindful of scratchy vines and wildlife.

There is an historical marker at the front of the cemetery.  There was once a community in this area that was centered around a ferry that took travelers across the Trinity River.  Interesting side note: It is rumored that there are remains of a steamboat at the bottom of the river in the area of the old ferry.  There are many many interesting markers in this cemetery.  Some look traditional.  Some look hand made.  There are many old markers and places marked with tiny metal signs.  I don't know this for sure but my brother and I believe that there were markers that had crumbled or disappeared and these little metal markers are to alert folks there is a resident there.  Please be respectful of them and watch where you step.  There are many of them.  While placing the cache, we noticed that there was one mashed into the ground as though someone ran over it.  It would be easy to trip over.

While you are here there is another clever hide up the hill from another cacher.  Please visit it and sign the log.  Happy caching!
