Indiana. Golden Corral is a buffet restaurant.

I would like to have a rough head-count about a week in advance
to give the restaurant a heads-up, so if you're planning to come,
or would like to try to come, please post a note with the number of
people that will be coming for your group. Last-minute and
unannounced cachers will also be welcome - if you don't post an
RSVP, you can still come; the more the merrier! Contact Lord Elwood
for further details if required.

Poker Run!! |
|
There will be a temporary cache at this Meet N Eat. I will be
hosting a Poker Run.
So, what's a Poker Run? Read on...
There will be 5 temporary event caches placed in the Fort Wayne
area. Each cache will contain an envelope. Your mission is to find
each cache, remove 1 card from the envelope. You can only take 1
card from each cache, so do not just go and take the whole envelope
or grab five cards from the first cache, not that any of you would
even think of doing such a thing. Bring your five cards (one from
each cache) back to the Golden Corral so that we can compare
hands.
Please note that this is NOT a race - there is no
benefit to being first-to-find on any of the event caches. We don't
want anyone trying to rush around town in winter weather. Also, all
the caches will either be drive-up or a short walk, so hopefully
everyone can participate. The poker run will begin at 10:00am
at:
N41° 07.798
W85° 00.516
This is in the corner of the Wal-Mart parking lot near the
Golden Corral. Look for the white Blazer. Be there by 10:30am
because that's when I will be leaving.
The Poker Run grand prize will be provided by those fine folks
over at GeoGearStore.
The prize will be a personalized CITO style backpack.
I'll have a backpack with me to show at the event, but the winner
will get theirs in the mail after the personalized embroidery has
been added to it.
When you announce your attendance for this event, please let me
know if you intend to participate in Poker Run. This will help me
to determine how many decks (if more than one is needed) I will
need to set up. Thanks.

~~~~~~FOLLOW UP~~~~~~
Well, as always, I believe that a good time was had by all. We
had good food, it was warm INSIDE the building and we all had great
stories! This time, I think we had the biggest gathering to date
with almost 60 people showing up!!! We even had to spill out of the
main meeting room into the general seating area because there were
just to many of us!! Now those are problems I like to have!
Congratulations go out to Mintaka for winning the Poker Run. The
winning hand consisted of three Kings. I would also like to say
“Thank you” to everyone who braved the cold to participate in the
Poker Run. I think everyone really enjoyed it so we may just have
to do it again next year. But maybe with a little warmer
weather!
I also want to give a VERY big and special “Thank you” to team
KGB-7 (owners of GeoGearStore.com) and their donation of the prize
for the Poker Run. As well as for them taking the time to drive
down to participate in the event. If you haven’t checked out their
online store yet, please do so. I think you will like the selection
and the prices!
I hope to see everyone again next month up in Auburn.
