This cache has been archived.

walkergeoff and wife: I don't know where the TB is - I asked at the Royal Standard, but it hadn't been dropped on the floor. Anyway, time to archive this one. Here's to 2008!

Binfield Bank Holiday Cache Bash

Monday
28th May  2007
from 1200 hrs onwards

The Royal Standard Public House
Forest Road
Binfield
Berks

The 3rd Binfield Bash... walkergeoff & The Dewdrops have put together this bash for cachers from both within the area and maybe further afield, to meet up and exchange their geocaching anecdotes and stories in a homely, country inn environment.

This event is open to absolutely anyone.... cachers from Berks, Bucks or wherever. However due to the size of the pub, numbers may have to be limited!  Please register early to avoid disappointment.

Pets and children are welcome, providing they are kept under suitable control.

There will be the usual TB swap. Bring along a TB and take a different one home with you. You can either pre-drop them into the event, or just bring them along on the day!

The pub itself can be located at the coordinates shown at the top of this page.  There is ample local parking, either at the pub car-park (around 20 vehicles),  or in the Oakmede Place car-park just over the crossroads at N51 25.881 W0 47.458.

The pub opens at 1100 hrs - bar snacks and light meals will be available (betweeen 1200 and 1400 hrs only).  Please let Jon or Geoff know your requirements so we have some idea what will be required of the chef!  We need to put the food order in by Monday 21st May.

The centre of Binfield is only a couple of miles from the town of Bracknell, but the village remains rural and is surrounded by farmland.

The village, a mile or so in length, is a prime example of ribbon development, running along a ridge 260 feet above sea level.

There is a big but modern shopping arcade within walking distance of the venue.

The Royal Standard  is just 5 minutes from the A329(M) junction 10 of the M4.

There is a big garden and patio area, with some tables and chairs.

If you are planning to stay overnight at a local B&B or pub, contact Geoff at geoff@coxes.co.uk , who might be able to help.

Event caches will be active on the day of the bash - details will be available at the venue or shortly before.

Please register by leaving a note on the cache page, just so we can get some idea of the numbers expected to tell the publican.

Hope to see you all there!

Geoff and Jon
