The History:
The concept of the Geocaching World Wide Flash Mob, created by
Sonny and Sandy of the PodCacher Podcast is simple: hundreds of
geocachers all over the globe briefly come together for an event,
all on the same day. At a precise time they come together, have a
group "meal" (often it's candy), take a group photo, maybe do
something silly and then disperse, vanishing with the wind.
Typically the whole thing happens in a flash, in 15 minutes or
less!
We will be gathering at a small park just outside the main gate. To
get there, drive out the main gate and take the first right after
white pole road. You should see the park on the left.
The event will start promptly at 10:00am and end promptly at
10:15am.
-- Participants wait patiently and/or stroll around the area.
-- As best as you can, act like a muggle
-- Pretend not to know each other or give any indication that
something is about to happen.
-- At 0959 slowly begin to move towards ground zero.
STAY AWAY from ground zero until the signal is given.
Because the rules state that there must be a meal, we will be
providing Hershey’s Kisses to everyone.
As for a theme, we would like it if everyone brought an umbrella.
The color and size doesn’t matter, but we want every umbrella
open for the group photo.
Bring a friend! A Geocaching event is a great way to de-muggle
someone!
Here is the schedule:
1000: Everyone seemingly appears out of nowhere and gets their sign
in sheet and Hershey’s Kiss.
1001-1009: Socialize, eat, trade trackables, sign logsheet and
return it.
1010: Group Photo w/ Umbrellas!
1011-1014: Socialize, eat, trade trackables
1015: Every leaves in different directions.
***This event is part of a worldwide flash mob happening on May
15th. Watch this event and check back here for more details as the
date approaches.
