The Cache Across America Series: This is a series of caches that will take you on a caching tour of the entire United States. One cache is hidden in each of the 50 states. These caches each contain a numeric clue that will lead you to one final cache located in our nation's capitol upon completion of the series.

About this cache: The cache is located in an area where the past meets the future.

The cache has been placed within a few feet of historic Route 66. Once a major highway that moved travlers and goods from Chicago to LA. In Oklahoma it stretches from the Green Country in the Northeast to the Capitol City of Oklahoma City, then west through the wheat fields of Western Oklahoma. Affectionaly known as the Mother Road, Oklahoma has more miles of road-bed left than any other state. From the cache site look North or South and you can see a new energy source being harnessed. The Weatherford Wind Energy Center is one of the states largest wind farms. Located on 5,000 acres the 98 turbines produce up to 147 megawatts of electricity. That's enough to power more than 44,000 homes. This is a clean renewable source of power for the future. Take a short trip down Route 66 and see the windmills of the future.
