Geocache Description:

Just in time for Halloween. This is a Night time only cache. Once you arrive at the cache location you will be looking for an Ammo Box.

You lock the door And throw away the key There's someone in my head but it's not me.

And if the cloud bursts, thunder in your ear You shout and no one seems to hear And if the band you're in starts playing different tunes I'll see you on the dark side of the moon

With the request for a few more full sized caches The Federation, Chefwill, and the Wind Powered Pirates present you with a Night cache. Just in time for Halloween. Do you dare to visit the Dark side of the Moon? Do you have what it takes to do this nighttime only cache? Don't even bother looking for this one in the daytime. It has to be done at night for it to work. The darker the better. The listed co-ordinands will get you to the parking area. From there you will have to use a flashlight as you find your way into the J P Hall Nature Preserve.

From the gate to the cache is just over a half mile. You can hike, Ride a Mt.Bike or even a Horse. You will find glow tacks on the sign located at the trail head. There are a few on a tree to the left just down the trail that can be seen from the gate. This is what you will be looking for ALL the way to the cache. The glow tacks are placed here and there on the trail, some on the left, some on the right. No particular order but they are easily seen with a good light. Stay on the main trail. It is well kept and plenty wide should you have to run from any wildthings in the dark. No spiders to worry about as long as you stay on the trail. You will come across a few intersections on the trail, one might be a shortcut but to play it safe follow the tacks. Who knows what awaits down the path that appears to be a shortcut???

Make sure you bring a strong flashlight with and extra bulb and batteries just in case. Once you arrive at the cache location you will know it by plenty of glow tacks in the area. You will be looking for an Ammo box crammed full of stuff. You can use the bread crumb trail on your G.P.S. to find your way back out or look for a few tacks on the backside of the trees to help you. Stick to the roads and stay out of the woods.

"WARNING" The Skunk Ape (Florida Bigfoot) could be on the loose in this area. Strange noises and smells are in the area at night. Ever since the famous "Patterson / Gimlin Footage" of an alleged Bigfoot was taken in 1967, there have been a great number of confirmed hoaxes and fake photographs and reports concerning Bigfoot like creatures roaming around the United States and Canada.

However, a wave of sightings around Florida seemed to suggest something more than just a simple prank. Many people have begun to report sightings of a large ape-like hominid, completely covered in light brown hair, and which stood seven feet tall upright like a man. However, the most noticeable feature of this creature was the putrid odor that seemed to emanate from it.

The smell varied in description, but was most commonly reported as being like a cross between a skunk, rotten eggs and even manure. A witness of the creature stated that "It stunk awful, like a dog that hasn't been bathed in a year and suddenly gets rained on". Sufficed to say, it was this fact that gave the creature it's name of "Skunk Ape".
