GEO JAMBOREE 6
AND IT WAS
HOT HOT HOT !

BY POPULAR DEMAND, LOCAL AND OUT OF STATE CACHERS RETURNIED TO THE SHORES OF LAKE ZOAR FOR THIS TWO-DAY EVENT IN WESTERN CONNECTICUT. (Can you say "four day event"?)

AS ALWAYS, WE STRIVE TO GET BIGGER AND BETTER THAN EVER, AND WE CERTAINLY DID THIS TIME

Not only was the weather hot, but the raffle, the kids activities, the food, the boat rides, the campsite breakfasts, the caching, the camadery, the campfire, the band... IT WAS ALL HOT !

GIANT RAFFLE - GREAT PRIZES
GPS units were won by: Babybutterfly, BlueEyes & Bugsy and Jeepman87
TWO copies of TOPO ZONE software were won by: Alphadog and Dizjon
A Pair of GMRS Radios were won by Xiadog
plus Gift Certificates, and lots more.

NO CACHER LEFT BEHIND was our new motto as kayacks and canoes were loaned out (with lessons) and our ferry service took others to caches they might not have been able to get.
NIGHT CACHES
A RAPPELLING CACHE
WATER CACHES
CACHES IN TREES
CACHES IN ANIMALS
KIDS CACHES
PUZZLE CACHES
TRAVEL BUGS THAT ACTUALLY DROVE AROUND THE CAMP
GREAT CAMPING
AND BREAKFAST SERVED EACH DAY WITH AN UNBELIEVABLE SELECTION OF GORMET COFFEE

WHAT ELSE CAN WE POSSIBLY COME UP WITH?
Don't worry, the wheels are already turning for more adventures next year

TEAM SIGN CONTEST
FIRST PLACE: Lostboy1966
SECOND PLACE: BirghtPrrot
THIRD PLACE: Planet

Several cachers took advantage of the offer from The Crowne Plaza Hotel of rooms for $99/night. We hope to take more advantage of this next year. They were pleased to work with us.

Located in Kettletown State Park, this event has been the biggest ever seen in this area.

Our committes are the strength of the event. It could not be done without them and the volunteers that signed up to help. I, as the director of the event, am deeply touched by the compliments and supportive comments that I have received both privately and on this page.
However, I want all of the committee chairmen and the members who helped out to accept these compliments as directed at them personally. You all did a great job.
Special appreciation this year goes to our prize committe who did an excellent job of procuring some excellent raffle prizes, and the two boat committees that gave rides to water caches and loaned out kayacks and canoes with lessons. Many people took advantage of these offers and we hope to do it again next year.

Listed below are our committe chairmen but there were many others whose help made these committee work.
Cache Committee: Zurcher
Food Committee: Planet
Travel Bug Committee: Katydid & Miles Stone
Sign Contest Committee: 1NatureMom
Kids Games Committee: Climbermom
