Geocache Description:

There are very few caches in this area. The location gives a nice view of the Keg Creek valley to the West.

The cache holder is in plain sight. (It is NOT the mailbox.) You won't be 'shocked' that the cache is so easy to find.

There is a dollar for the first to find.

This Keg Creek drainage area was originally a swampland in the 1800's. In 1850's the U.S. Congress passed legislation regarding 'Swamp and Overflowed Lands'. This portion qualified and the channel was constructed in order to drain the swamp and provide tillable land. The East - West Pioneer Trail main road to the North was the Mormon Pioneer Trail. The Mormons most likely crossed the swamp on their way to Winter Quarters in Florence, Nebraska. The site is still there on 30th and State Street in Omaha.
