Geocache Description:

Westbury White Horse is a well known landmark and the oldest. Some say it was carved into the hillside to commemorate the battle of Ethandun. Others dispute the location of the battle and place it instead in Somerset. Regardless of this quandary, the carving of the White Horse is amazing and probably took quite a time to complete.

Please read the information board nearby as it tells you more about the area. On a good day, there are many visitors so stealth is needed if you are to look for this cache. You'll probably see a lot of dog walkers, runners and spot the occasional hang glider, kite flyer or RC planes in the skies. Currently cared for by Wiltshire CC and English Heritage who have given permission for us to place this cache.
