Geocache Description:

A beautiful view above the Oregon Coast - 500 feet above the ocean. A difficult cache for anyone in a wheelchair. DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT GOING OVER ANY LEDGES!!!

It has been a BLAST reading all the logs and seeing all the pictures everyone has posted here since I planted this cache 2 years ago!

My grandmother Katherine Peyton owned the giftshop at this location for as long as I have been alive so naturally I have been here many many times.

Sadly - my grandmother passed away 2 weeks ago (9/25/2010) at the incredible age of 91. She had an incredible life. She bought this gift shop in the 1960's and grew its popularity and history in an era of very few women entrepreneurs.

She also traveled to all 7 continents, co-owned/operated the lodge at Crater Lake, served as a medical missionary with her granddaughter in Central America, and still had the time to raise 4 incredible children.

But, never did she seem so at home as during the time she spent at the gift shop at Cape Foulweather. We all miss her and hope you'll take time during your trip here to think about your own loved ones and what they mean to you.

It is such a beautiful view and a unique location to visit that it's a must for anyone driving along the coast. It's an easy exit to miss and a tough one to traverse off of Hwy 101 - be careful.

Please put this back so It is not visible. YOU DO NOT NEED TO GO ANYWHERE NEAR GOING OVER THE WALLS/FENCES! Enjoy!

4/2/15 Third container in a year, please be diligent in putting this back and out of site. Hid west of previous hide to let bushes recover.
