This event centers on the Harvest Square Recreational Reserve. There are 2.7 miles of trails in the park (and several caches hidden along the way).
We'll gather around 10:00 at the pavillion across the creek from the parking lot.. chit and chat for a while, enjoy some doughnuts and juice... then around 10:30, we'll break into informal groups and spread out in the park (especialy the parking lot) and along its trails to pick up litter and trash -- and perform tasks as directed by our contacts. If SO many cachers show up that the park isn't big enough to hold us all, there are other areas nearby that could sure benefit from our volunteer clean-up work; maps will be passed out at initial gathering.
You are also invited to perform CITO on your own that morning, and add your pile to our pile for pick up. Just arrive before 11:45 to sign the log to claim your participation (and be eligible for the special souvenir. We will then migrate to a restaurant in the mall around the corner for some lunch - yummy!
The City of Huntsville's Green Team will provide gloves, trash bags, pick-up sticks, and fashionable safety vests!
