UPDATE [09/25/04] well, apparently someone stole the cache. We will try to get out there and replace and relocate it as soon as we can. Thanks for updating me on the cache BigDrano!
Park in the small lot. There is a no parking sign but that is so that people do not block the gate. It is o.k. to park in the lot. We took a right upon entering the trail and then a left onto the first trail we came to. If you take a left when starting out from the lot it may bring you closer to the cache but we did not try trails from that direction. The cache is a good 20-25 minute walk the way we did it. The cache is hidden off the trail on the water side and is in view of the dam. It is hidden at the waters edge underneath a fallen tree.
Included in the cache is our travel bug "The Red Lantern". Also included, among many interesting items, are a log book and camera. Please log your visit and snap a pic with the dam in the background. Also included are paper currency from China and Mongolia, an American flag, 3 VCD's from China (the Indiana Jones Trilogy) I bought in China a couple of trips ago. Also there are stickers for the kids and dog treats for the pets. Lots of other goodies as well. If you go and are leaving something try to make it cultural in nature, if not that's o.k.
Enjoy and have fun! Nice views of the water. These trails would be nice throughout the year but I would suggest bug spray in the appropriate months.
