Vezia - Il Cuore degli Eroi

(Per quelli del Lilu2: l’ora di ginnastica oggi va combinata con una di storia. Chissà se i due docenti vogliono a mettersi d’accordo per una lezione davvero speciale?)
Per questa nostra prima Mystery Cache abbiamo scelto una location che vale una visita e che si trova al centro di un intreccio di storie che dovrete sbrogliare prima di entrare in azione: Villa Negroni, già Morosini, a Vezia. Le appassionanti vicende che vi invitiamo ad approfondire, oltre a risolvere gli enigmi necessari al calcolo delle coordinate finali, sono le seguenti:
- La straordinaria vita di Tadeusz Kosciuszko, Eroe polacco di tre rivoluzioni in due mondi! In quale anno lanciò la sua rivoluzione in Polonia? Risposta: A. In quale anno si trasferì a Soletta e conobbe così Emilia von Zeltner? Risposta: B.
Andrzej Tadeusz Bonawentura Kosciuszko
- Il viaggio del Cuore dell’Eroe Kosciuszko, espiantato dal suo petto al momento della sua morte nel 1817 e lasciato in eredità a Emilia von Zeltner. Il Cuore segue Emilia da Soletta a Vezia, poi a Varese e in seguito torna con lei a Vezia nel 1872. Esso venne successivamente traslato al museo polacco nel Castello di Rapperswil, in che anno? Risposta: C. Finalmente, il Cuore dell’Eroe ritorna in patria per trovare requie nel Castello reale di Varsavia. In che anno? Risposta: D.

- La vita di Emilia von Zeltner-Morosini, figlia di Franz Xavier von Zeltner, sindaco di Soletta e nipote di Peter Josef Zeltner, compagno di Kosciuzko a Parigi negli anni della Rivoluzione francese. In che anno l’Emilia sposò Giovan Battista Morosini, residente a Villa Morosini a Vezia? Risposta: E. In che anno acquistarono Villa Recalcati a Varese e vi si trasferirono, portandovi il Cuore di Kosciuszko? Risposta: F.
Emilio Morosini
- La breve ma intensa vita di Emilio Morosini, figlio di Emilia e Giovan Battista, Eroe del Risorgimento italiano caduto durante i moti rivoluzionari. I genitori addolorati costruirono a Vezia, per lui e per i due altri giovani caduti, un mausoleo che nel quarto angolo ospitò anche il Cuore di Kosciuszko. In che anno nacque Emilio Morosini? Risposta: G. Che età aveva quando morì? Risposta: H.
Villa Recalcati
- La storia di Villa Morosini (poi Negroni) a Vezia, che oggi ospita il Centro studi bancari e di Villa Recalcati a Varese ora sede della Provincia di Varese. In che anno fu inaugurato il Grand Hotel Excelsior a Villa Recalcati, dopo la cessione dei Morosini a degli imprenditori? Risposta: I. Quante sono le dame di pietra che ornano tutto il giardino della Villa Negroni (lato ovest di via Morosini)? Risposta: J.
Villa Negroni
Per tutte le domande tranne l’ultima vi aspetta un po’ di ricerca su internet (google, wiki…) prima di recarvi a Vezia. Verificate le fonti perché spesso sono imprecise/inesatte, a partire da Wikipedia. Per l’ultima domanda invece bisogna recarsi sul posto e girare un po’ in tutto il giardino, sempre aperto al pubblico, attorno alla Villa (lato ovest di via Morosini).
Una volta avute tutte le risposte, calcolate le coordinate della Cache secondo le formule seguenti:
((C – G + B – F) * H + (D – I + E – A) * J + C - E) / 2 = UVW
((I – F + G - E) * H + D - B + F - B) / J = XYZ
Somma di controllo: U+V+W+X+Y+Z=23
Coordinate finali: N 46° 1. UVW E 8° 56. XYZ
Le coordinate di partenza sono quelle del capolinea del bus n° 5, “Villa Negroni”, con il quale potete comodamente raggiungere il teatro delle operazioni. Per chi preferisce il mezzo privato c’è l’ampio parcheggio della Manor lì di fronte oppure qualche posteggio nella zona blu di via Morosini mentre quelli del Centro Studi Bancari sono temporaneamente inagibili causa il cantiere Alptransit.
Difficoltà: le tre stelline sono date dal fatto che il calcolo delle coordinate finali è complesso (ricerca online e indizio sul terreno), ma poi trovare la cache è piuttosto semplice.
Terreno: le due stelline sono calcolate dal Geocache rating system ma non è niente di che, diciamo che lo sconsigliamo in sedia a rotelle senza accompagnamento.
Cache: Avremmo voluto posare una teca d’argento come quella contenente il Cuore dell’Eroe Kosciuszko, ma ci siamo limitati al consueto tupperware. Questo non è grande e ci stanno solo oggetti piccoli, gradisce comunque per sua natura i cuoricini.

Vezia - The Heart of the Heroes
For our first Mistery Cache we choose a location that is worth a visit and that is at the crossing point of a number of stories that you have to investigate before questing there: Villa Negroni (ex-Morosini), in Vezia. The intriguing tales that we invite you to look deep inside and find the necessary answers to determine the final coordinates of the cache are the following:
- The fabulous life of Tadeusz Kosciuszko, polish Hero of three revolutions in two worlds! In which year he started his revolution in Poland? Answer: A. In which year he moved to Solothurn, Switzerland, and met Emily von Zeltner? Answer: B.
- The travel of the Heart of the Hero Kosciuszko, taken from his chest at his death, in 1817 and inherited by Emily von Zeltner. The Heart of Kosciuszko follows Emily from Solothurn to Vezia, then to Varese and after that back to Vezia. Afterwards Kosciuszko’s Heart will be translated to the polish museum at Rapperswil Castle, in which year? Answer: C. Finally, the Hero’s Heart go back to the native Poland to rest in peace in the Royal castle of Warsaw. In which year? Answer: D.
- The Life of Emily von Zeltner-Morosini, daughter of Franz Xavier von Zeltner, mayor of Solothurn and niece of Peter Josef Zeltner, broche in arms of Kosciuszko in Paris at the times of the french devolution. In which year Emily married Giovan Battista Morosini, living at Villa Morosini in Vezia? Answer: E. In which year they bought Villa Recalcati in Varese and moved there, bringing in the Heart of Kosciuszko? Answer: F.
- The short but bold life of Emilio Morosini, son of Emily and Giovan Battista, an Hero of the Italian “Risorgimento” that died in the revolutionary events. The sad parents built in Vezia a mausoleum for him and the two other young peoples that died with him. There, in the fourth corner of the tomb, found place the Heart of Kosciuszko. In which year was born Emilio? Answer. G. At which age he died? Answer: H.
- The history of the Villa Morosini (then Negroni) in Vezia, today hosting the Centro studi bancari, and the Villa Recalcati in Varese, actually headquarter of the Provincia di Varese. In which year was opened the Grand Hotel Excelsior at Villa Recalcati, after Morosini sold it to entrepreneurs? Answer: I. How many stony ladies are in the whole gardens of the Villa Negroni (west to the street “via Morosini”)? Answer: J.
To answer all the questions except the last one, you have to crawl a bit on the web (google, wiki…) before to go to Vezia. Verify your sources, sometimes you find wrong data (yes, also on Wikipedia). You will answer the last question with a short hike in the whole gardens of the Villa Negroni, open to public.
When you have all the (right) answers, you can calculate the final coordinates of the cache with the following formulae:

To control the results: U+V+W+X+Y+Z=23
Final coordinates: N 46° 1. UVW E 8° 56. XYZ
The starting coordinates are of the final bus stop of the line 5, “Villa Negroni”. You can comfortably take the bus to come here. If you prefer the private mobility, you can park at the big lot of the Manor supermarket, just across the street.
Difficulty: three stars are due to the complexity of the calculation of the final coordinates (online and outdoor search), then to find the cache should be fair easy.
Terrain: two stars were calculated by the Geocache rating system but it’s not difficult, simply we wouldn’t go for it with a wheelchair without assistance.
Cache: We would like to place as cache a silver box, as the one that contains the Kosciuszko Heart, but then we decided for the usual Tupperware. This is not large and contains only small objects. By nature likes hearts.

Für unseren ersten Mystery Cache haben wir einen sehr sehenswerten Ort ausgewählt: Die Villa Negroni (ehemals Morosini) in Vezia. Mit diesem Ort verbunden sind verschiedene besondere Geschichten, die ihr untersuchen müsst bevor ihr dorthin geht. Es lohnt sich, diese Geschichten zu studieren – nicht nur um die nötigen Antworten zu finden, die die Berechnung der finalen Koordinaten des Caches ermöglichen!
- Das ausserordentlichen Leben Tadeusz Kosciuszkos, polnischer Held von drei Revolutionen in zwei Welten. In welchem Jahr hat er seine Revolution in Polen gestartet? Antwort: A. In welchem Jahr ist er nach Solothurn gezogen und hat somit Emilie von Zeltner kennengelernt? Antwort: B.
- Die Reise des Herzens von Held Kosciuszko. Es wurde der Brust von Kosciusko nach seinem Tod im Jahr 1817 entnommen und als Erbschaft Emilie von Zeltner übergeben. Das Herz folgte Emilie von Solothurn nach Vezia, nachher nach Varese und wieder mit ihr zurück nach Vezia im Jahr 1872. Später wurde es ins polnische Museum beim Schloss Rapperswil gebracht, in welchem Jahr? Antwort: C. Schlussendlich kam das Herz des Heldens wieder ins Heimatland zurück und fand seine Ruhe im königlichen Schloss Warschau. In welchem Jahr? Antwort: D.

Die Eltern bauten zu seiner Erinnerung und für zwei andere gefallene Jungen einen monumentalen Graben, welcher in der vierten Ecke auch das Herz Kosciuszkos gehütet hatte. - Die Geschichte der Villa Morosini (nachher Negroni) in Vezia, die heute das Centro studi bancari beherbergt und die Geschichte der Villa Recalcati in Varese, aktueller Hauptsitz der Provincia di Varese. In welchem Jahr wurde das Grand Hotel Excelsior dort eröffnet, nachdem Morosini die Villa Recalcati an Unternehmern verkauft hatte? Antwort: I. Wie viele Damen aus Stein gibt es in den ganzen Gärten der Villa Negroni (westlich der Strasse „via Morosini“)? Antwort: J.
Alle Fragen, ausser der Letzten, sollt ihr ein bisschen das Web (google, wiki…) erforschen bevor ihr nach Vezia reist. Achtung: kontrolliert eure Quellen, oft sind sie ungenau (ja, auch Wikipedia). Die letzte Frage beantwortet ihr vor Ort, mit einem kleinen Spaziergang im ganzen, dem Publikum immer geöffneten Garten der Villa.
Mit allen Antworten lassen sich dann die Cache Koordinaten mit den folgenden Formeln berechnen:

Die Anfangskoordinaten bezeichnen die Bus Endstation der Linie 5, “Villa Negroni”. Von hier aus kann der Cacheplatz bequem erreichet werden. Wer das private Verkehrsmittel bevorzugt, parkiert beim Manor oder in der blaue Zone der Via Morosini (der Parkplatz des Centro Studi Bancari ist für die nächsten paar Jahre meistens durch die Alptransit Baustelle besetzt).
Schwierigkeit: drei Sterne wegen der komplexen Berechnung (online und auf dem Platz) der Endkoordinaten. Dann sollte aber der Cache ziemlich leicht zu finden sein.
Terrain: die zwei Sterne wurden automatisch vom Geocache Rating System berechnet. Es ist nicht schwierig, für Rollstuhlfahrer ohne Begleitung aber trotzdem nicht geeignet.
Cache: Wir wollten eine Silber-Kristall Schachtel benutzen, wie das Original des Herzens von Kosciuszkos, aber am Ende haben wir uns für die übliche Tupperware entschieden. Diese ist ziemlich klein und enthält nur kleine Objekte. Selbstverständlich freut sich die Tupperdose, wenn sie Herzen erhält!
