Easy micro cache close to the Pico del Teide.
When we visited 'Parque Nacional del Teide' we stopped at this
special place. With all those dunes and all the sand it really
looks like a desert. A Volcanic desert.
In this area you can find the Tizon Lizard. It can measure up to 30
centimeters and its name is derived from the grey-black colour of
its skin. The necks of the males are decorated with greenish-blue
spots which attracts the attention of the females during the
breeding season.
You can also find the Tajinaste Picante. For most of the year this
plant, endemic to Tenerife, is a pile of dry leaves with its living
parts below ground. Towards the middle of winter new leaves begin
to sprout while its blue flowers appear in spring and wither at the
beginning of summer. We only saw the skelets of this plant.
The cache is a 35mm Film Canister. Only a logbook is available so
bring your own pen! There is no room for goodies or TB's. Micro
coins will fit. It is a 200 metres walk straight to the cache. No
climbing or special outfit is required.
Enjoy!!
cache maintenance will be performed
