A short hike through some of the Anacortes Community Forest Lands along the North Heart Lake Trail. There are several trails along the lake shore to choose from, whichever you choose, your hike will be less than 1/2 mile with little or no elevation gain.
The North Heart Lake Trail (210) begins at the Heart Lake Parking Lot N48 28.525 W122 37.675. You will share the forest with giant cedars and pine trees. After you have enjoyed the viewing spots and found the cache you can continue along this trail for approximately one more mile. Pay attention to the trail signs, for you may share the trail with mountain bikes and horses.
The cache is a standard ammo can with a not-so-standard paint job, there is little or no need for bushwhacking!
Please take care to re-hide the cache well. The paint job is not exactly camouflage and needs to be covered well.
