This Friday the only aliens you will find in Grandview, ID will be geocachers doing the locomotion into the wee hours of the night and beyond. Grandview doesn't have a railroad but the locomotion festivities begin Sunday the 23rd as the railroad starts laying tracks. The event coincides with the release of nearly 2,000 caches through trails and geo-art and some of those caches will begin releasing on the 23rd for those out of state or at a distance. We're pretty sure some of you will be doing the locomotion when you see all those caches start publishing on your computers and smart phones..
The numbers alone make this an opportunity to be part of geocaching history, and once you see the art you will know you are a part of something big. It's an event you don't want to miss. So bring yourself, your friends, your family, the dog, the cat, the canary, but be there and log yourself into the geocaching hall of fame.
The event will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Centennial Park in Grandview, ID on Friday the 28th.

Grand Funk Costume Contest:
The American Band of the 70's means you can get down with the psychedelic, the bells, the boots and the hair or whatever else you can remember or discover about that era. Get your FUNK on and come in style. The three winners will receive notoriety and a prize.
Just to get in the mood we will be teaching the Locomotion so as a group we can do a few steps and yell "Do the Locomotion" for the video camera to be preserved on the internet.
Things you should know:
Bring your laptops fully charged to load GPX files on your GPSr's. Those who "will attend" the event will get a CD with the preloaded GPX files. Others will have to wait for the caches to publish sometime in the evening.
Be prepared for night caching and the desert.
