Geocache Description:

A drive by Micro at the site of the fictional St Aiden's Royal Free Hospital, as seen in the ITV Heartbeat Spin-off series "The Royal"

Keep your eyes open for Dr Omerod and Matron in the building over the road. Since 2002 it has been used for filming the external scenes of "The Royal". When we visited, no filming was taking place but all the modern road signs had been replaced by their 1960's counterparts.

See also the interesting Clock Tower and Italian Gardens close to the cache site.

The cache can be reached without standing on the gardens and contains no writing implements so please bring your own.

UPDATE: I have been informed by two different local people that the area around this cache may be a meeting place for gay men. This may or may not be true and may and may not be an issue to you. However I felt it only fair to mention it in case of any misunderstandings between different groups of people who may be acting suspiciously for very different reasons. During the day this is a very busy and safe area, I have visited the cache on several occasions and never noticed anything out of the ordinary. Please don't be put off !
