Geocache Description:

This is located on Fosters ridge in Bald Mountain TWP.

This cache is located just NE of Austin pond, north of Kingsbury. A Delorme Gazeteer is an absolute must unless you want to spend a lot of time driving around in circles. You will need to: walk the last few miles, or have an old 4wd vehicle that you don't care about tree scratches, or have a new 4wd that you want to get repainted, or an atv to get to this cache. If you want to hike it, just go to the closest point on the road and start beating path, it's a lot shorter than the road. Once you get to the spot, it's relatively easy to find. I may go up later and make it accessable year round.

Best times to be at the cache are on a clear day, sunset, and especially a clear day when thunderstorms are coming from the west, very impressive but don't hang around! Try to find time to go to the Moscow Backscatter Radar installation, a very impressive relic of the cold war. It is just south on the plateau at the base of Moxie Mountain, the one visible at the NW corner of your view. Enjoy! The Mechanical Horsethieves
