OMG – Leaping into Mega Events Event Cache

When? February 29, 2016, 7:30 – 9:00 PM.

Where? Library Station, Frisco Room, 2535 N. Kansas Expressway, Springfield

Why? Because you will have to wait another 4 years to get a Leap Year Day Cache and because we are a fun bunch, PLUS, you get a geocaching souvenir!

What do I bring?  Nothing.  If you want refreshments, there is a place for those about 30 feet away.

According to Geocaching.com, “This year holds some extra special delight. There will be 366 days, which means we all get one extra day of geocaching. So of course, we're celebrating with a souvenir - actually, make that two! The first souvenir can only be earned on Leap Day itself - February 29 - by attending a geocaching event. The other souvenir can be earned all weekend long (February 27-29) by getting outside and finding a geocache. (Hint: You'll want to earn both of these...)”   

This event is planned for the Ozark Mountain Geocachers and all other geocachers who happen to be in the area.  Since the event is in the dead of winter, I have chosen a nice indoor venue, where we can all stay toasty warm.  It’s been awhile since we have had an event with a program, so that’s what will happen at this one.  The program will be about Mega Events  - those monster events that present a whole new dimension to our hobby.
