Geocache Description:

This is short multi cache that will show you statues of great people from Osijek. Cache is size nano in very public place. Beware of mugles.

Stage 1: Pajo Kolarić (1821.-18AB.)
Pajo Kolaric was the originator of the Croatian Tambura Music, singer, musician, composer and songwriter.
In 1847. in Osijek founded tamburitza society.
With music, he was also politically active. The parliamentary mandate received from the Osijek-Djakovo electoral districts. In Osijek was elected as director of Osijek savings. He was a founding member and director of the Slavonian sredotočne štedione.
Pajo Kolarić died on 14 November 18AB. Osijek, without heirs, his fortune has left the educational and charitable purposes.
In memory of this great musician and patriot, with a bust in Sakuntala Park, his name carries Slavonia in Osijek tamburitza society founded 21st ožujka 1954th years, and the residential area in the center of Osijek.

The most important painter of the Osijek mid-19th century. Hailing from a wealthy family in Osijek. In Osijek painter Huge Conrad von Hötzendorf taught to paint in watercolor and pencil. In the field of folklore is the most important collection of "South-Slavic Folk Songs" with 1600 songs with piano accompaniment, is his pioneering work in the creation of the Croatian musical terminology. Attention has caused the discovery of Croatian songs in the part of Haydn and Beethoven. He was also a composer of short piano and vocal works. His work Illyrian musicians is a precious document on the Revivalist composers.
