Miss Steele: Unfortunately, this cache page has been archived due to the lack of a timely maintanence resolution. If the owner would like to have it reinstated, please contact me through my profile within 10 days, referencing the GC code and name of the cache. Please note that un-archiving a cache page places it through the same review process as a newly proposed cache, using the cache placement guidelines currently in effect.

I want to thank you for the time that you have taken to contribute to geocaching in the past and look forward to seeing more of your caches up and running in the future.

Geocache Description:

A drive and hike regular cache for which a 4-W drive type vehicle is recommended. It is a dirt road with occasional ruts and potholes. It’s not city car friendly.

Use the McClellan Creek Road from Montana City; go towards Strawberry Mtn., but pass the Lookout turn off. This cache is in honor of Bearfr’s grandfather Willard, who we called Sock. Follow the trail and creek named like him. Park at the beginning of the trailhead and hike in – about 1.2 miles on an easy hard-packed dirt trail. Check out the pond and the bluebird houses going in. Stay on the path until it crosses both creeks, then follow your GPS with a only minor bushwhacking.

Note: If you are coming from the South, use the Warm Springs Creek road off the Clancy exit, and follow the North Fork.
