Geocache Description:

Original Contents: (DO NOT USE)

This is a 2-part multi cache in a historic section of Schenectady. Since one of us grew up here, it was interesting to see how much had changed, and how much had stayed the same. At the initial coordinates you will find the address of the final cache. The final cache is a micro containing only a log, so please bring your own pen/pencil. Due to the size, please keep your log short - date and name would be great! Beware of muggles at both locations and enjoy your history lesson!

PLEASE SEE LOG DATED JULY 09,2006 BEFORE HEADING OUT TO DO THIS CACHE! COORDINATES FOR PART 1 HAVE BEEN CHANGED.

Updated Cache information

J&B graciously let us adopt this location so as to keep its spirit alive. The original I.P. seems to have had trouble over its lifetime and a replacement container (of some sort) was fashioned. Shortly afterwards, the final location just up and disappeared.

Get ready for the cdparker1 twist on this Colonial Cache!!

Here goes…

Proceed to the I.P. Locate the following:

  • Find the ‘5’ that is inside of a circle with an arrow attached to it. Which number is just below the arrow?
    • This number is ‘xx’.

  • Find the following two items:.
    • ”The Indian”
    • ”Guard House” which is close to the word ‘GATE’

Write down the number that you find inside the circle by each of the two items above. Place these two numbers (“Indian” then “Guard House”) in your GPS for the ‘yy’ position and go find the micro. Make sure to BYOP.

Proceed to N42°49.xx4 W073°56.yy3

Please be careful when seeking the final. Since its placement, one of the neighbors has taken it upon themselves to cultivate a garden. Please do your best not to disturb this area.
