How Geocaching Works
This cache takes you to a riverside park with a walking/biking path. The cache is about 50 ft off the path so some stealth is required but usually there are few people around. It is a cameo taped one gallon jar filled with the usual trade items. There are some scenic views along the river & although I usually don't approve of graffiti, there are several that show some artistic talent. Be sure to see Fort Dodge's largest flag pole.
Parking is easy at the north entrance & gives the best hike. The coordinates are N42 30.482 W094 12.206. The only good parking at the south entrance is a couple blocks away from the park & you will miss most of the interesting parts of the walk.
I have the permission of the City's Parks Department to place this cache. As usual, please make about even trades (no golf balls, acorns & the like!) and no dangerous items such as knives, lighters, fireworks etc. Rehide the container well so it does not get muggled. Its' hiding place is obvious to anyone that has found a few caches.
