Geocache Description:

This is a short walk from the Sky Top parking area. Hang a left by the covered picnic structure.

This cache is placed right on the edge of the "Enchanted Forest"...it was planted by the Civilian Conservation Corps in 1930, then 16,000 pine trees planted in single file rows exactly the same distance apart from one another. Now there is little foilage and many have fallen, having a weird effect on that part of the forest. Legend has it that witches and ghosts would congregate there during the full moon and a number of years back there were reports some weird rituals being performed there....burning pagan stars and chanting at night.

With that said, none of that was apparent to me and my young children when we placed the cache....but to be on the safe side and to be sure we are not held responsible for what may become of you once inside the enchanted forest, we placed it on the edge!! We did see the outline of a pair of cloaked figures within the forest though...really...see if you can find them. There may be others in the shadows waiting for you to depart so they can resume their incantations.

Wander around the enchanted forest...it is easy to drift from the path. Take the path further up to the bridge crossing Blue Brook, past the Boardwalk and the stonewall remnant of Drake's farm. Seeley's Pond is near there as well, but we did not go there. There is a bizarre looking tree near Drake's farm that has a hollowed out trunk. But do all this before the full moon shines in the sky if you plan to cross back through the "Enchanted Forest".

The contents include a log book and the usual trinkets.
