Visit Oso Pass Cache details at the DGP

The cache is hidden near Oso Pass in the Sandia Mountains. Depending on your route, the hike may be 4 miles each way, with an elevation gain of 2,000 feet.

Several trails lead to Oso Pass, including Three Gun Spring Trail, Embudo Trail, Whitewash Route, and Embudito Trail. The hike is pretty strenuous, so take plenty of water and plan on a long day's outing.

The cache is hidden just east of the intersection of Three Gun Spring and Embudito Trail. See http://www.sandiahiking.com for more information about these trails.

Have fun in this beautiful area of the Sandia Mountains. If you are feeling especially energetic, hike another 900 feet in elevation to find Deer Pass Cache, too.

Second cache of the day nabbed on my way up to the southern portion of the Crest Trail from the 3 Gun Springs trailhead. Beautiful location. TFTC and a reason to take a break while on the hike.

Got this one the dark. I hiked the Crest trail in one day. Boy, That was tuff. But also Fun. Thare are lots to see along the trail. TFTC, TNLN

This was quite a hike. Hiked up there on Embudito trail. This was my 2nd time to Oso pass. I just don't remember it taking as long the first time. I tried to continue on to "Into Thin Air" but I was too tired. It ended up being 11 miles roundtrip. I got caught in a rain/hail storm on the way down. TFTC. TNLN. SL.
