Recently, I was told a story about this site. The foundation and chimney you will find here was part of a rendering plant. One year a circus came to town. Elephants was a major attraction with the circus. While they were in town, one of the elephants died. Not knowing what else to do, the poor deceased elephant was brought to the rendering plant to be processed. When the workers arrived, they found that the elephant would not fit through the doors of the plant. What to do now? Those involved decided to burry the elephant there by the plant.
No one seems to recall where the actual elephant grave is. Perhaps one day clues will surface in this unique mystery. Happy caching.
