Geocache Description:

Parking Coordinates 35 degrees 46.11N 082 degrees 11.71W. Follow Forest Service Road to cache coordinates.

Locate 2 small boulders. Search for cache. We laid a small flat rock against the small ammo box.

Note: Someone took the ammo box and replaced it with a tupperware container. We are now on the third tupperware container. Last replaced on 3'28/16

Our cache box is packed full. It's in an old ammo box that has an opening of about 3" x 12" and about 9" or 10" deep.

Cache contents:

1 camera for self pictures, logbook (please let us know of your visit), 4 dog biscuits, 1 lucky fish hook (Eagle), 1 golf ball, 1 dripless backpackers candle (fits candle lantern),
1 Trout Unlimited pin, 1 local high school mascot pin (cougar), 3 beaded bracelets, (Susan beaded),
6 flies that Jack tied in a small box that he got at Madison River Outfitters in Montana in 1983,
1 paper back copy of A River Runs Through It, 1 well worn South Toe River Trail Map,
1 clear rubber ball with a fish inside, 1 small slinky with a tiny yoyo,
1 cross section of fence post from South Toe over 100 years old that is made into a paper weight, 1 Trout Unlimited decal
*Note: 3/28/2016 Jack and Susan visited the site with Jeter and Mickey, our pups. We replaced the container, added a survival bracelet, old mule shoe, hiking decal, hunter safety patch, 101 Dalmation geo coin given to us at the 10th anniversary celebration. Thanks to all who have and will visit this old traditional cache. This may be the 351st cache of the now 2.3 million in existence. This cache is also probably the oldest "traditional" cache in N.C. Note: We placed this cache over 8 months before the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
