Geocache Description:

Ready for another fun filled afternoon of caching and puzzle solving? Then head to Fireman's Park in downtown Tacoma for the 2nd annual Geocaper.

The Geocaper (Geocaching and Puzzling Event Race) is a team puzzling and caching event based off of the popular book and movie "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory". Willy Wonka loves puzzles as much as he loves making candy. He has hidden 8 candy themed puzzles in the downtown Tacoma area. Can your team be the first to solve the puzzles and collect all of the golden tickets? If so gather up your dream team of great puzzle sovlers and join us for a day full of twists and turns and wonderful surprises!

Details and Rules?

We got 'em: the event will start at 11am on Saturday, July 21 in Fireman's Park at the list coordinates. Check-In will be from 11-11:30am. The race begins promptly at 11:30. Teams of 3 to 6 players will have 5 hours to solve 8 puzzles hidden in the downtown Tacoma area. The course will be about 3 1/2 miles long and all travel between cache/puzzle sites must be on foot or the free downtown Tram system. No other means of transportion is permitted. Team members may have a GPS, cell phone, writing implement, and paper. No laptops, etc. will be allowed. "The Sweet Cheat Sheet" will be provided to help solve the various puzzles. Teams can expect to spend more time solving puzzles than traveling. Teams may travel at their own pace. However, at 4:30 teams that have not finished the course will be directed to the final location. Each team must travel as a group at all times. The team with the highest score wins. Details about scoring will be given prior to the event. In case of a tie, the fastest team wins.

Team tallies and final results will be given at a post-event dinner gathering (Details coming soon!)

Teams are encouraged to use the free parking garage near Freight House Square and ride the tram to the start location.
