Geocache Description:

Camouflaged tape over a tube. Original contents: log -book marked “Star Arch” ( I had the wrong name when I hid it), compass, flashlight, finger lights, stickers. East side of 84.

Take Highway 84 north from I 40 at exit 256 in New Mexico and you will find beautiful country. On trips I have found fascinating history, phenomenal natural wonders and something else…. Just past Dilia, way on top of a north-east mesa is Star Axis. At staraxis.org I learned that it is an “architectonic earth/star sculpture constructed with the geometry of the stars; earth-to-star alignments built to human scale”. Whatever it is, it’s big and impressive and can be seen from the geocache. I tired to get closer but Star Axis is on private land. So find the geocache, bring binoculars to see the Star Axis and if you want to see up close pictures....visit the web site. Or just enjoy the vast blue skies and desert vistas.
