Hidden Pond Traditional Cache
kbtiam: Archiving this for now. Unfortunately I am currently unable to replace this cache. Perhaps later I will put a new one in here. It is a beautiful hidden place!

Located beside a small pond just off Route 9 in Amherst. Rough, but well marked, trail with a couple of low spots that will be muddy in the spring.
I've wanted to place a cache here for quite awhile and finally got around to it. This is one of those hidden ponds that looks like it might have some brook trout in it.
Park at the turnoff at N 44.49.723 W 068.25.977 Follow the orange blazes and tapes on the trees which mark the trail and they bring you beside the pond and close to the cache. One of my wildlife muggle buddies helped create the spot for the hide.
If you keep following the blazes and cross the small outlet brook (look a few feet downstream for rocks to bridge across) you can find a short trail to the edge of the pond. From that vantage point you can also see Route 9.
