Why: An opportunity to meet new friends, swap stories with old comrades, pick each others brains for new ideas or hints, and other general discussion. Did I mention that you get a special souvenir for it towards the Achiever souvenir for the "7 Souvenirs For Augustt!"
After finding out about the "7 Souvenirs of August," we decided to try to get all of them only to realize that there were not any events close enough for us to get to. "Bummer!" So after discussing it with ML we decided to host our own event to help us and maybe lots of others to get that souvenir.
It seems that once again I am scheduling an event on a holiday. Our last event was on Easter weekend (had a great turnout) and this time we are hitting on Labor Day weekend, but we were just now able to get confirmation on our venue. We know that may hamper some in their ability to attend, but worry not as we hope that this will be the first of many such get-togethers and possibly turn into a regular occurence.
The venue (C3 Cafe) is not a restaurant. It is our church fellowship and meeting area. Despite the "cafe" in the name, there will not be any food service so if you are planning to attend please pack a picnic basket, brown bag it, or stop at your favorite drive-thru on the way to the event. We want this to be a very informal affair with lots of fellowshipping. Come for the entire time or drop in at any point when you are able. Young or old, new to caching or an experienced cacher, from near or far, all are welcome and invited. The "Why" above pretty much sums it up. Think of this as your one stop, cure all, snake-oil kind of event celebrating the hobby/game, the comraderie, the end of summer, the start of school or just a simple souvenir. All stories, questions and general conversation are encouraged.
There will be opportunities to discover or even trade trackables.
