Bridge to Nowhere Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

LiefPhotos: I learned shortly after hiding this cache that the guardrail was actually on private property. The property owner was gracious enough to allow it to remain intact. However, I have recently learned that the bridge commemorated by this geocache is also on private property, and I do not know who owns it. I do not want to encourage people to trespass, and not being able to visit the bridge defeats the entire purpose of this geocache, so I am reluctantly archiving it. Thanks to all who searched for it.

Geocache Description:

Not the one in Alaska!

One of the great things about geocaching is that it brings us to places that we might not otherwise see. When I recently found a puzzle cache in this area, I was surprised to see this old bridge. I had driven past this spot hundreds of times, and never had any clue that this existed!

Unfortunately, I was not able to place the cache directly at the bridge. However, it's close enough... after you find this and sign the log, continue 500 feet west on the old road and spend a few moments admiring the bridge.

Container is a magnetic micro. Log-only, please bring your own writing instrument. Please be sure to replace the log inside the plastic bag and hide the container as well as you found it.

IMPORTANT: When I placed this cache, I assumed (mistakenly) that the guardrail was public property. However, the owner of this property does not have a problem with the cache. Please be respectful of the area, and if he comes out to chat with you, identify yourself as a geocacher to put him at ease.
