Geocache Description:

St Peter's Cathedral in Exeter city centre originates back to the year 1050. As is usual for a building of this age, it has been extended, changed and modernised over the years since then. It has the longest unbroken stretch of Gothic stone vaulting in any building in the world. The most recent part, the front of the Cathedral dates from the 14th and 15th centuries and has dozens of medieval stone carved sculptures adorning the western aspect.

Exeter CathedralYou are looking for a cache which is within the general vicinity of the fantastic Exeter Cathedral. The Cathedral building is equally impressive from the inside as it is from the outside, so if you can, make time to have a look inside. You are free to enter the cathedral (no admission charge, but they do suggest that visitors make a contribution to the cathedral upkeep). The cache is not inside the cathedral, or on any part of the building.

This cache was designed to be very challenging to find. It is definitely slightly out of the ordinary, so keep an open mind!

To help you avoid being put in a difficult situation, I have added some comments: The cache is NOT at ground level, so you do NOT need to scrabble around on the ground, nor poke around in holes or dirt or put your hands anywhere that you can't see. You do NOT need to pass through any gates either.

Please bring a pen with you, as there is not one provided. Please be careful that you are not seen returning the cache to its hiding place. It is a very very busy area, so you will need to be ultra-discreet.
