Geocache Description:

The cache is outside. You can expect a wet log, is not easy keep it dry in a Rain forest. The humidity is high. You can add a dry log if you had one.

We are going to take you around the Yunque, and we assure you that you will enjoy this if you are a good hiker who likes to explore. Your first stop is here, in the Portal. You may enjoy a visit to the El Portal Visitor Center for the El Yunque National Rainforest. Informative exhibits and a gift shop in a spectacular building. There is a coffee shop as well. It is important to make a donation to this National Forest. The $3. per person admission is a good donation, but if you do not have the time to stop here, you can make a donation at the Palo Colorado Station little shop, where you sign up for the forest ranger tour. The El Portal Visitors Center closes to the public about 4:30 or 5 PM NOTE: We, a group of geocachers, understand that if you want to go to the Yunque’s most spectacular sites and have 3-4 hours to spare, this is the order of the caches you should follow: Portal, La Coca Falls, Yokahu Tower, Mt. Britton, Los Picachos, The Peak, On The Top of the Yunque, The Rock and Baño Grande. After these and if you still want to do more you can go to Radar Cache. If you don’t have time and just want to do the “easier ones” then this is the order: Portal, La Coca, Yokahu and Baño Grande You can expect to find a wet log... due to the high humidity of zone, please sign in a new piece o paper.
