Geocache Description:

This is a 2 stage, offset, multicache. The first stage (where you'll gather needed information) is in a private park, open to the public. The physical cache is not on private property, and is but a short stroll from the posted coordinates.

This cache takes you to the birthplace of Prince Jonah Kuhio Kalaniana'ole Pi'ikoi. Prince Kuhio reigned over the House of Kalakaua when the Kingdom of Hawai'i was overthrown in 1893. He later went on to become a politician in the Territory of Hawaii as delegate to the United States Congress. He is the first native Hawaiian and only person ever elected to that body who was born a royal. And, his birthday is a Hawaii state holiday.

To find the cache, locate the plaque at the posted coordinates. Then:

Determine Prince Kuhio's age at the time of his death. Subtract 1 from that age. Subtract the result from the last 3 digits of the posted North coordinates.

Next, subtract the year Prince Kuhio became a congressional delegate from the year he died. Add 5 to that number. Subtract the result from the last 3 digits of the posted West coordinates.

This is the eleventh cache in the Iki series. Iki is the Hawaiian word for little or small. The Iki caches are always at easy to get to points of interest.
