Geocache Description:

In late 1642, Abel Tasman discovered both Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania), and Staten Landt (the South Island of New Zealand). Later 'the ditch', aka the Tasman Sea, that lies between the two lands, was named in his honour.

In June 2010, two South Island geocachers - Moneydork and rediguana - are spending 6 days caching in Tasmania and would love to meet up and socialise with local geocachers over a beer or two and dinner.
