Geocache Description:

Come on out, walk, bike or ski, past Saturn and enjoy one of Anchorage's best assets.  Enjoy views of the Alaska Range, including Mt. Spurr which last erupted in 1992 and coated Anchorage with ash, Port MacKenzie and Port of Anchorage reaching out to each other and Cook Inlet.

I had some time to kill before catching the flight home, so a coworker and I drove down to Westchester Lagoon to search for something "Stinky."  However, Monday night's GSAK load didn't put the coordinates in my GPS, so a quick call to Scobey confirmed that the cache had disappeared awhile back.  There wasn't really enough time to drive to another part of town for a different cache and it was a pleasant afternoon, so we walked down the Coastal Trail and reached a point with an expansive view.  It was then that I remembered I had a cache in my bag for just such a moment.  The location features several benches that invite people to sit awhile and contemplate the beauty of the area.  To the southeast of the cache is a park that offers something for ages from the very youngest to the very oldest.

Watch for skiers and skijorers during winter and runners, bikers, and roller bladers the rest of the year.  There is almost always someone coming or going at this spot, so please use stealth when retrieving and rehiding this cache.
