Geocache Description:

This park features lake access, a swimming area beach, hiking trails, picnic tables and shelters. An information board and restrooms accompany the neat playground equipment which most caching kiddlets will love.

This 12.17-acre site along Lakewood Road, (5 miles west of I-5, northwest of Marysville) was formerly a resort and tavern property. The site was acquired by Snohomish County in 1996. We've driven by here many, many times when it was nothing more than a shell of it's former self. No hints remained of it's glamorous heyday save a run down old building that used to house the tavern and an empty parking lot more suitable for a speed trap than much else.

It was with eager anticipation that we watched the new Lake Goodwin Community Park take shape over the last year. This park was funded by Conservation Futures and Interagency Committe for Outdoor Recreation.

Please stop a moment once you've found the cache and consider carefully how to retrieve it. The retrieval will be a bit tricky and requires delicate hands. PLEASE, USE NO FORCE. The cache is attatched to it's location all you have to do is unscrew the container, but if you break the cache you don't get to keep the smiley. So there!

Always remember to BYOP!

Most importantly, have fun, enjoy the scenery and take a little time to savor the find.
