This will test your ability to work your GPSr. This cache is a simple route with the initial waypoint (Coords above), two intermidiate waypoints and the cachepoint. Total one-way length direct is .60 mile, but it is about .75 mile walking because you will stay on the trails up until the end of leg 3, where you will find the cache about 20 feet off the trail.
Parking is just feet away from the first waypoint. Look for Friendship/Bogdonavich Parks.
Hurry and see the wildflowers while they last. In the summer, enjoy the cool breeze.
Container is a small box about 10"x7"x3".
Warning!: Stay on the trails, watch for rattlesnakes, they are around. Recommend hiking with partner and carry phone. Hike can be strenuous up the hills.
Suggested Equipement: Flashlight, calculator, paper and pencil, modern GPSr with its manual. GPSr should have major coordinate systems, two main compass references, and several distance units. A mountain bike will speed it up.
20May03: All in place. Travel bug inside. Took it off Members Only and increased difficulty to 3.5 based on email feedback received.
11Jan06: Since I placed this, the new eXplorists have become more common. Unlike most GPSrs, they do not have mils as an alternative to degrees for bearings and projections. There are 6400 mils in a circle compared to 360 degress in a circle. It is a more precise measure, so do the math (for example, 90 degrees is the same as 1,600 mils.)
